SAN JOSE (KRON) -- There's a new reward in the search for three men who attacked an East Indian Man in a San Jose supermarket parking lot in what police call a hate crime.

Authorities say 32-year old Atul Lall was in his car leaving  the Lucky's parking lot on South White Road last November 21st when the three men approached him.

One of the attackers called Lall a "terrorist."  While an accomplice opened Lall's car door, the first man hit in the head with a tequila bottle.  All three then ran away.

The victim was taken to the hospital.  Later he gave police a description of one of the attackers and authorities produced a sketch of the man who is heavyset and in his 20's with a medium complexion.  He's short, just about 5'6".  There's no description of the other two attackers.

"An attack against one person in our community is an attack against all of us, and I take that very seriously," San Jose City Councilwoman Rose Herrera said. "We want to make sure this never happens again."

Herrera is offering a $1,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the attackers.

If you know anything about this crime, contact San Jose Police or Silicon Valley Crime Stoppers.
