SAN JOSE (KRON) -- The man accused of kidnapping and killing 15-year old Sierra Lamar has still not entered a plea in the case.
Antolin Garcia-Torres won't be formally arraigned on the charges until at least July 10th. Garcia-Torres' attorney has also waived the accused killer's right to a speedy trial.
Despite the lack of a formal plea, authorities say Garcia-Torres has steadfastly denied kidnapping and murdering Sierra who was last seen in March before leaving to go to her school bus stop.
The high school cheerleader's purse and cell phone were found not far from the family home in Morgan Hill. Prosecutors say DNA found in the purse and in Garcia-Torres' VW Jetta tie him to the case.
Volunteers and professional search and rescue crews continue to look for Sierra's body. Prosecutors say they have forensic evidence that leads them to believe the teenager is dead.
