SAN JOSE (BCN) -- A three-alarm fire badly damaged a home in San Jose early Wednesday morning, a fire captain said.
The blaze was reported shortly after 5 a.m. at a two-story home in the 1000 block of Andrea Drive.
Four people were at the home when the fire started -- two residents and two guests -- but were able to get out safely, San Jose fire Capt. Anthony Melendrez said.
One of the residents was evaluated briefly for possible smoke inhalation, but no injuries were reported, he said.
The blaze, which started in the kitchen, spread to other parts of the house and left the home uninhabitable, Melendrez said.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
