SANTA ROSA (BCN) -- Investigators are searching for a gunman that opened fire in a Santa Rosa park Tuesday night.
Officers responded to reports of gunfire on the east side of Martin Luther King, Jr. Park at around 7 p.m., according to the Santa Rosa Police Department. Witnesses told police that a person in his late teens to early 20s had opened fire on individuals in the park and fled the area on a bicycle.
No one was injured in the shooting, according to police, though a bullet reportedly struck the bumper of a pickup truck causing minor damage.
Police reported locating two male juveniles near the park that were possible targets for the gunman. There had apparently been a verbal confrontation between the two and the suspected shooter just before shots were fired, according to police. No other motive has been determined at this time.
Police reported finding bullet casings from a large caliber semi automatic handgun at various locations near the reported shooting, though no suspect has been identified, according to police.
Anyone who might have information regarding the shooting is asked to contact the Detective Sinigiani at the Santa Rosa Police Department's Gang Crime Team at (707) 543-3670.
