Raw Video: Police Arrest 7th Suspect, Elvis Josue Torrentes

RICHMOND (KRON) – The Contra Costa County district attorney is charging a seventh suspect in connection with the gang rape of a 15-year-old girl outside the Richmond High School homecoming dance.

KRON 4’s Haaziq Madyun says 21-year-old Elvis Josue Torrentes, who was arrested early Tuesday morning, has been charged with three counts- one count penetration with a foreign object in concert and two counts rape in concert.

Prosecutors have filed charges against five others in the case, including 18-year-old Jose Carlos Montano.

Richmond Police Lt. Mark Gagan says one of the suspects, 21-year-old Salvador Rodriguez, was released after prosecutors realized there wasn’t enough evidence to charge him.

Torrentes is currently at the Martinez Detention Center. His bail is set at $300,000.
