H1N1-Swine Flu Clinic in Antioch Cancelled
Created by Kimberlee Sakamoto on 11/9/2009 6:35:00 PM

CONTRA COSTA COUNTY (BCN) -- Contra Costa Health Services is reminding county residents that an  H1N1 and seasonal flu vaccination clinic that had been planned for Saturday  has been canceled due to logistical issues.

The clinic was supposed to take place at the Somersville Towne  Center in Antioch.

Health services spokeswoman Kate Fowlie said another clinic will  be scheduled soon somewhere in the eastern part of the county.

Several thousand people received vaccinations at a clinic held  last weekend at the Hilltop Mall in Richmond, Fowlie said.

She said about 2,000 people were vaccinated for the H1N1 flu and  about 1,200 people were vaccinated for the seasonal flu.

Fowlie said everyone who attended and who fell into one of the  groups classified as a priority group received a vaccine.

She said priority groups are pregnant women, children 6 months to  4 years old, children 5-18 years old with chronic health conditions and  people who live with or care for infants under 6 months of age.

Two clinics are planned for Nov. 21 in San Ramon and Concord.  Residents can access information about all future clinics on the health  services Web site at www.cchealth.org
