SOUTH BAY (BCN) -- The largest provider of shelter, food and supportive services in Silicon Valley announced Wednesday that it is kicking off its drive for donations and volunteers for the holiday season.
InnVision, an organization that serves more than 24,000 homeless and at-risk families in the region, has started its 2009 "Holiday Toy and Teen Shoppe", a program that lets parents select holiday gifts and other essentials for their families and children free of charge.
The organization also has an "Adopt-A-Family" program, which allows churches, businesses, schools, community groups and others to pool their donations for an entire family.
InnVision is seeking donations of various items for the programs, including new toys and gifts, stocking stuffers, new warm jackets, particularly for children, new underwear and socks, new toiletry items, gift cards to shopping outlets, and clothing for children under 18 years old.
The organization will be accepting donations between now and Dec. 19. Cash donations can be sent to InnVision at 974 Willow St., San Jose, 95125.
Gift donations can also be dropped off between 12:30 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. from Monday to Friday at the organization's Georgia Travis Center, located at 297 Commercial St. in San Jose.
