VACAVILLE (BCN) -- Police have arrested two people suspected of burglarizing as many  as 27 homes in Vacaville since last month.

Officers arrested 19-year-old Maxwell Krohn at about 2 p.m.  Wednesday after receiving a report of a suspicious person in the area of  Stonegate Drive and Stonecastle Way, Vacaville police said.

The person who reported the suspicious activity had received an  automated phone call earlier that day from the city's alert system notifying  residents of the recent burglaries.

After police detained Krohn, a resident identified him as a man  who had tried to get into her house through a rear door earlier in the day.  Police said Krohn was in possession of stolen items at the time of his  arrest.

A search warrant was served at Krohn's home, which he shared with  his 22-year-old girlfriend, Laurie Zavala, police said.

Zavala was also implicated in some of the burglaries and was  arrested, police said. Investigators found additional evidence at the home.

Police believe Krohn is responsible for approximately 27  residential burglaries in the Browns Valley area and other Vacaville  neighborhoods since Oct. 17.

Krohn and Zavala were booked into Sonoma County jail for  residential burglary, possession of stolen property and conspiracy.
