MARTINEZ, Calif. (AP) - A 24-year-old Bay Point man convicted of killing a Concord landscape company owner during a robbery scam will spend the rest of his life in prison. A judge sentenced Paul Antonio Westmoreland to life in prison without the possibility of parole Tuesday for the 2005 murder of Francisco Sanchez. Westmoreland was convicted in July of first-degree murder, burglary and robbery for fatally stabbing the 47-year-old Sanchez. Prosecutors say Sanchez was lured to the apartment as part of a robbery scam. Before the sentencing of Westmoreland, it was an emotional scene in the courtroom. Relatives of Sanchez provided tearful testimony of how is death had an impact on the rest of the family, while Westmoreland's mother sobbed. --- Information from: Contra Costa Times (Copyright 2009 by The Associated Press.
