CONCORD (BCN) – Concord police are reporting that a 61-year-old Concord man was arrested Saturday night after he allegedly shot his neighbor in the leg during an argument inside his mobile home.
Police received a call from Donald Dunlevy, the alleged shooter, at about 8:45 p.m. saying he needed an ambulance for his neighbor, who had been shot in the leg inside his mobile home on Eileen Lane.
Police arrived and detained Dunlevy at the door. They found his 40-year-old neighbor inside. The neighbor was unresponsive and bleeding badly from a gunshot wound to his upper leg, Concord police Cpl. James Carroll said.
He was taken to John Muir Medical Center in Walnut Creek, where he was listed in critical condition, Carroll said. He said there were no updates on his condition today.
The two men had gotten into an argument prior to the shooting, Carroll said, but he didn't know what started the argument.
Dunlevy was booked into county jail on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon, Carroll said. He remained in custody in Martinez this morning with bail set at $50,000, a county jail official said.
