RODEO (KRON/BCN) – Officials in Contra Costa County say an 18-year-old San Pablo man has been arrested on suspicion of kidnapping and child molestation after he showed up Thursday morning with a missing 13-year-old girl and her 7-month-old cousin.
According to Contra Costa County Sheriff’s spokesman Jimmy Lee, Curtis Odom has been booked into county jail in Martinez on suspicion of one count of kidnapping and one count of lewd and lascivious acts with a child under 14.
His bail has been set at $200,000.
Lee says the 13-year-old girl was booked into juvenile hall for an unrelated juvenile parole violation.
The teenage girl and the baby were reported missing from Rodeo on Wednesday evening. They were found safe Thursday morning when they showed up at a designated pickup spot in Pinole at about 8:30 a.m., accompanied by Odom.
Lee says the kidnapping charge against Odom is in connection with the baby and declined to elaborate on the circumstances surrounding the molestation charge.
