SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) -- Soon you won't be able to get a "Venti" coffee or anything else at seven Bay Area Starbucks stores.

The seven Bay Area locations are among more than 70 Starbucks locations due to be shutdown statewide.  These new announcements are part of a series of store closures Starbucks first announced in January.

Here are the Bay Area stores that are closing:

* In San Francisco: 2 Harrison St. & 123 Battery St.
* In Cupertino: 21000 Stevens Creek Blvd.
* In Livermore: 2470 First Street
* In San Leandro: 1443 E. 14th
* In San Mateo: 680 E. 3rd Ave.
* In Vallejo: 2035 Springs Road

In all, Starbucks is shutting down 300 locations worldwide with 200 closures in the U.S.  Some of the stores could be out of business by the end of the month.  A Starbucks official says all 300 will be closed by the end of their fiscal year.

The company says it will offer jobs to many employees at nearby locations.  Those who can't catch on at another Starbucks will get a severance package, the company says.  Starbucks continues to try to cut costs in the wake of the worldwide economic troubles.
